Third Time is a Charm

Septuagenarian Phyllis B. understands pain, so with her multiple stays in the hospital and then at Frontier Rehabilitation and Extended Care Center, she has become well versed on what she considers quality nursing home care.

“I shall miss this place and I don’t think anyone will fully understand how I feel. The nursing was number one in my book, and the rehabilitation was top notch.”

Those are Phyllis’ words after three months of rehab at the Frontier Rehabilitation nursing home in Longview.

When she first arrived she could not walk. Phyllis said, “I could not even take a step without help, but within two to three days I was starting to walk again. The rehab team did not let me give up on myself and they did not give up on me.”

Phyllis had been to the hospital and then the Frontier Rehab facility three times in the recent past three months. The first two times after she left, she had declined medically, becoming sick and very weak.

Third time is a charm. At the end of the third month stay at Frontier’s extended care nursing home she said, “So as it stands now, I am going home to my husband and two dogs. This place (Frontier) has blessed me with many new friends that I will always cherish. All my love to them.”
